Flying:

The Mammoth Lakes Airport is 40 minutes north of Bishop. Alaska Airline Flights are ~$100 from L.A.

Driving:

Bishop is 3.5 hours from Reno; 4.5 hours from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas. San Francisco is a much longer route at 6.5 hours, but will take you through the breathtaking Yosemite Valley.
